About the Instructors

Kay began her yoga studies in 1977, was certified to teach by B.K.S. Iyengar
in 1995 and studied at the Iyengar Institute in Pune , India in October
1997. In 1998 the Balance work of Jean Couch overwhelmingly changed her
life as well as her yoga practice and teaching. Since March 2007 Kay has made three trips to Paris to work with Noelle Perez, the genus behind the study of Balance. She currently is a registered
yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and a certified Balance instructor with
Jean Couch. She extends heartfelt appreciation for her teachers along the
life long path of yoga , primarily B.K.S. Iyengar, Lynne Minton and Jean
Couch, and to her husband and son for their love and support.
Morgan Peterson Bursiel, RYT 907.456.1427

A lifelong student of music and dance, Morgan has enjoyed a personal yoga practice for over ten years. In 2004, she was introduced by Jean Couch to Balance, a method of rediscovering the body's natural musculo-skeletal alignment. Morgan continued her study of Balance and yoga locally with Kay Hackney, founder of Interior Yoga. The combination of yoga and Balance transformed her approach to posture and movement. Exploring the body's optimum architecture in the yoga asanas, Morgan finds a sense of ease that inspires her practice and guides her instruction. Strength, flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness are among the benefits she appreciates both on and off the mat. Morgan is nationally registered with the Yoga Alliance, having completed in May 2008 a year-long teacher training program under Lynne Minton at Inner Dance Yoga Studio in Anchorage. She is deeply grateful to all of her teachers along the path of yoga, in particular Kay Hackney for her guidance and support.
